In the white cube the office space is separated from the gallery space. Indeed the offices are on the floors upstairs while the two galleries are, one on the ground floor and the other one underground. This is also another interesting element, to actually use and underground space to exhibit large installations. So the journey to the building has three main elements:
-Small passage:you can see the building, but not yet in its entirety
-Courtyard: you can see the whole building
-Underground gallery: you concentrate on the piece of art, the outside is of no intrerest anymore, the piece of work is the main thing to look at.
This is the white cube gallery situated in Mason's yard. What I find interesting about this building is especially the journey that you have to do to arrive there. Indeed to get to the gallery you need to through a small passage which leads you in the courtyard where the building is situated and it is only at the end of it that the white cube shows itself in its entirety. So here we have a path from a small space to an open space ,two different points of view that I think enhance the experience that you feel approaching the gallery.
